Much like Captain Kirk, who was on a mission “to explore strange new worlds” and, “to seek out new life and new civilizations,” William Shatner recently wandered into one of the more—ahem, shall we say, “stubborn”—sites on the Internet, and was not pleased with what he found. Luckily, he was willing to break the prime directive and address this problem directly. Even better, he found people willing to hear him out. Go team Internet!

As a lesbian couple exited The Stingray Café, restaurant owner Ed McGovern handed them a hastily scrawled and poorly spelled letter condemning their love for each other because apparently their committed relationship is ruining lives.
He says he gave them the letter “out of love,” but anyone who has the nerve to say something like this to other human beings is just a jackass in my book.

Did you know there’s an American holiday on November 25? It’s called Evacuation Day, and thanks to President Abraham-Freaking-Lincoln, celebrations for this important historical holiday fell by the wayside when he declared Thanksgiving a national holiday in 1863.
Lincoln was a great president, but let’s be real. This was kind of a dick move.
