Pseudo-Livetweet: Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark ›

In case you missed it, I went to see Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark yesterday. I tweeted furiously during intermission. It was fun.

I am forever sad that there is not a streaming version of the best worst song from the musical on the internet: “Bullying By Numbers.”  Clearly the producers do not want anyone to be able to hear it before arriving at the theater. Or Bono was just so proud of it that he retained the rights to it and will be putting it on his next album. But I’m guessing it’s the former.

Bad Movie Livetweet: Spider-Man 3

This is technically a rewatch, which is why it’s not included in my Movies Watched in 2012 tag. Holy hell, I thought this was bad when I saw it at a midnight screening in theaters…and it did not age well at all. Also…this. Yikes all around.

Episode One: George Takei Should Be Spiderman! (by allegiancebway)

George Takei continues his campaign of awesomeness in this hilarious audition tape for Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark.

“It was this crazy moment where I was in the future the past and the present all at once. And in the future I was thinking about the twins…twin boys my brother is about to have and how their Uncle is going to be Spiderman. And in the past I was with the kid that use to pick on me at school and how it’s going to be easy for me to picture his face and beat the crap out of it every day I got to set. And in the present I was like, ‘this is a moment I’m never going to forget.” -Andrew Garfield on the moment he was announced to be Spiderman. (Empire February 2011)

The last thing I remember was, like, uh, just going, ‘Oh, God.’ I was falling, and then I saw, once I hit the darkness of the stage, I had to just turn it real quick, so I wasn’t going to fall on my head and I crashed on my back.

If Spider-Man was a novel, if it didn’t have pictures, would you really think a poor kid who lives in Queens, whose uncle got shot in the street was white? Would you really think that?

I’m putting myself in the running for the Spiderman reboot.

I’m actually quite interested to see how far this goes.  If this happens, I’ll buy each and every one of you a mini cooper.
